The boy does not have a name. He calls himself “Laddu” and claims his brother’s name to be, “Chamcham”, as they were named after sweets. The class teacher – Mojid Sir could not like this kind of name and decide to give that boy a new name. He says every student to write their favorite name and bring it on the day afterward. And after a lot of complications, the boy is named Rashed. Ibu and his group of friends are acquainted with Rashed, and soon they become best friends. Ibu’s story mainly revolves around Rashed – the boy who has always remained a mystery to everyone.

This book mainly is written in Bangla but here, you can find an English translation which translated by writers daughter Yeshim Iqbal and named- Rashed My Friend. This translation was first published in 2003 and published by Somoy Prakashan.
